Today we peeled the realtor sign off the door and Today we peeled the realtor sign off the door and gave the room its first identity. Studio Two now belongs to @momodead @catandsheep.dolls and @unkylastrange who will be sharing this bright new space here at Braid Studios.

We’re moving from the 3rd floor of 321–6th Street to the second floor, a space that is much better designed for working artists. The room is freshly painted, the walls are still echoing a little, and this weekend the artists begin moving in.

We have only three studios left:
• one large private north light studio
• one shared studio with east light
• one shared studio with west light

They’re going quickly.

Our new space also includes two workshop rooms, but the real beauty of Braid has always been the community — artists working alongside one another, sharing knowledge, encouragement, and the occasional reality check. Every resident artist also receives mentorship from owner @susanlgreigart but the community itself is supportive-we have an incredible group of professional and emerging artists who make up the Braid Studios community.

If you’re an artist looking for a studio in New Westminster, send a DM or fill out the application form on our website.

What a weekend at Braid Studios! From the Rollin What a weekend at Braid Studios!

From the Rolling Gallery trucks parked at the side of the building, to our open studios buzzing with creativity — this Crawl was one to remember.

Thank you to everyone who climbed the stairs or took the elevator, met our artists, and explored the Gathered: A Collective of Cloth and Story Art show. We loved seeing so many of you connect with art in all its forms — from the young couple who bought their very first artwork for their home, to the kids proudly choosing cards and stickers, to the collectors who added new pieces to their walls.

Your curiosity, conversations, and support mean the world to our artists and to this creative space.

Here’s to community, creativity, and the connections that keep art alive. Until next time — our doors (and hearts) stay open.

As a reminder we are open the First Saturday of each month. Please come see us again on November 1 from 12-4pm!

Part of the Braid Rolling Gallery, Brad’s U-haul is parked right outside 321 Sixth Street this weekend for the New West Cultural Crawl. Step inside his world, then head upstairs to the 3rd floor to visit Braid Studios, home to over 20 working artists.
